Glacier Soundscapes: Music for Glacier National ParkJill Haley
Few nature-inspired New Age music artists have achieved the heights that Jill Haley (oboe, English horn, piano) does on her latest recording. Glacier Soundscapes. Track titles reference locations in Glacier National Park ("approaching Baring Falls," "Highline Trail," "Sunrift Gordge") and, while I have never visited the place, after hearing the CD's music, I can well imagine how bursting with beauty every square inch must be! The 12 songs encompass a variety of moods and styles, but Haley's soulfu; woodwinds (along with David Cullen's guitar) bring solid cohesion to her musical vision. The CD merits an unqualified recommendation to fans of Eric Tingstad and Nancy Rumbel's many great releases, which Glacier Soundscapes resembles. |
